Japanese workshops, and the shops that champion them
The most extraordinary part of our work usually happens behind closed doors: sitting down with Japanese artisans and makers. The Toyo Steel workshops, the kilns of Arita, the spinning mills of Imabari, the indigo looms of Kurume. We talk with the people who make these objects, we listen to why they do things the way they do, and we see what never leaves the factory. For years, we were the only ones to have that privilege. This channel is where we finally share it.
We also visit shops around the world that champion these makers, because behind every beautiful object, there is someone who chose to put it on a shelf. Our retailers are free to reuse these videos.

Made in Japan and The Shopkeepers
MADE IN JAPAN
The Toyo Steel workshops, the kilns of Arita, the spinning mills of Imabari, the indigo looms of Kurume: we sit down with the people who make the objects, we listen to why they do things the way they do, and we film what never leaves the factory. The makers we distribute, and those we want people to discover.
THE SHOPKEEPERS
Shops around the world that champion these makers, told by the people who run them. Because behind every beautiful object, there is also someone who chose to put it on a shelf.
