The link between brands and shops, since 2015

The Robinson team gathered on its trade show stand

A trusted curator, for objects that last

Founded in 2015, Robinson has built a reputation as a discerning curator of timeless brands. Driven by a taste for design that lasts, we travel the world to find objects that combine the right form, a clear function and lasting quality. Each brand we represent tells a story of craftsmanship and creation.

Our approach is that of a shop putting together its own selection. Diverse in origin and style, the objects we choose share a common language: graphic harmony, considered design, self-evident use. Together, they form a coherent collection in which each piece brings out the best in the others.

As a distributor, we see ourselves as an essential link between brands and shops. As ambassadors for the brands we represent, we make sure their values and identity are preserved in every point of sale, and we strengthen their presence in the most inspiring retail spaces.

The founders

Kévin Clop

“I studied design in Brussels and Paris. Rather than creating my own objects, I chose to support and promote talented designers from around the world. Beyond the products, what draws me in is the stories, the heritage and the vision behind each brand.”

Jérôme Cubizôlles

“After studying international business, I soon wanted to forge my own path. With more than ten years of experience in the field, distribution became the obvious choice: a space where I could combine my knowledge of the markets with my taste for objects that mean something.”

The opening of Robinson Tokyo

In 2025, Robinson opened its Japanese company, Robinson KK, in Tokyo, in the Shinkawa district. Headed by Naofumi Mochizuki, it brings the agency closer to the makers we have worked with from the very beginning: exchanges in Japanese, workshop visits, new brands spotted on the ground and coordination of shipments to France.

Tokyo is also where the episodes of the MADE IN JAPAN series are filmed, and where Japanese brands find a contact who speaks their language and works in their time zone.

The logo

An emblem drawn by a kamon workshop

The Robinson KK logo was drawn by Kyogen, a Tokyo workshop specialising in kamon, the Japanese family crests. Founded in 1910 by Genji Hatoba, the workshop is run today by Shoryu Hatoba, third generation, and his son Yoho, both monshō-uwaeshi: the artisans who paint kamon by hand on kimonos, a technique handed down since the Edo period and recognised as part of Japan's intangible cultural heritage.

A kamon is made up of nothing but perfect circles and straight lines, drawn in Indian ink with a ruler and a bamboo compass, the bunmawashi. In 2010, father and son opened the Kyogen studio to combine this gesture with digital tools and create emblems for brands, companies and objects. It is this aesthetic of subtraction – keeping only the essential – that we chose in order to place our Japanese company within a thousand-year-old tradition. The creation of the logo will be the subject of a video on the channel.

Trade shows

Maison & Objet, Ambiente, Show Up

Since its creation, Robinson has exhibited at Maison & Objet in Paris, Ambiente in Frankfurt and Show Up in Amsterdam, as well as a few regional trade shows. Far more than sales appointments, these are the moments when we meet our customers and partners, listen to each shop, and watch the new collections come to life.

Our own brands

A bridge between Japanese workshops and designers

After ten years of distribution in Europe, we know what shops are looking for: products that are well made and beautiful, but also original, functional and sellable. So we took the next step: creating our own collections, by connecting the know-how of Japanese makers with the vision of international designers.

Bespoke projects

Exclusive colours, limited editions and co-brandings

For luxury houses, hotels, institutions and design studios, we develop exclusive objects with our Japanese makers. Saint Laurent, Van Cleef & Arpels, Diptyque and Muji have all come to us.
