Picus in detail
錆びた真鍮
Raw brass or rusted?
Picus, founded in Tokyo in 2009, specialises in designing brass objects for everyday life. Fascinated by the way brass transforms over time, the brand creates products meant to grow and mature with their owner.
Each piece comes in a raw, polished or pre-patinated finish: the brand's founder affectionately calls his products “antiques of the future”, in the hope that they will embody many years of memories.
未来の骨董品
Antiques of the future
Each piece is meticulously made by skilled craftsmen in Japan. The founder's deepest wish is to give the user the satisfaction of an object with a timeless design.
Brass and copper develop a natural patina: oil and air darken the piece and give it more shine; that is its natural beauty. Exposed to water or humidity for long periods, the metal changes colour faster. So each object passes through the years without deteriorating: it evolves.
