The Estie collection

Esterbrook's origins go back to the mid-1800s in New York; at its peak, Esterbrook was the largest pen manufacturer in the United States, employing up to 600 people. Relaunched in 2018 by Kenro Industries, the brand revives the spirit of 1858 with fountain pens, rollerballs, inks, notebooks and pen cases.

A true gem of the writing-instrument world, the Estie reflects Esterbrook's commitment to craftsmanship. Its cigar shape and its materials – turned acrylic, genuine diamond flakes – have made it an iconic collection, coveted by collectors. Ballpoint, rollerball (Schmidt refill), fountain pen and oversize fountain pen.

Aficionados eagerly await these very limited seasonal pieces: Maraschino, Peacock, Rocky Top, Sparkle, Evergreen… The Model J reincarnates the iconic 1950s model, with its hand-hammered barrel ring; the compact JR becomes a full-size pen once the cap is posted; the Camden pays tribute to the New Jersey city where Esterbrook had its factory.

All are fitted with interchangeable German Jowo No. 6 nibs, gold- or silver-plated: EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1, Fine Flex, EF Flex.

The brand's story

Esterbrook was the pen of choice for many 20th-century figures, such as presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. Donald Duck came to life on an Esterbrook No. 356 by the hand of the famous Disney artist Carl Barks.

Linus and the rest of the Peanuts gang were drawn by Charles Schulz exclusively with his trusty Esterbrook. When production of his beloved Radio 914 nib was discontinued, he bought up all the remaining nibs and used them until his last comic strip was published, in 2000.
