Good company for work and life

In a world full of things, good company is hard to find. Object Index presents a selection of objects made in Japan for work, life and everything in between: objects sorted, classified and numbered like the entries of an index, so you can find the one that suits you, and hand the rest of the experience over to whoever uses them.

01 — Re-evaluate objects, redefine functions: Object Index works directly with Japanese makers, looking at objects through a unique lens to present them in a new light. 02 — Make objects to keep within reach. 03 — Always looking ahead: objects that will last for years, with replaceable parts and refills wherever possible.

A brand born at Kakimori

Object Index is run by Kakimori, the world-renowned stationery shop in Kuramae. It shares the same high standards: useful objects, designed to last, made by Japanese workshops. Eighteen products to date, each with its own number: Boring Scissors, Parallel Highlighter, Ultimate Titanium Spork, Cedar Pocket Pen, Almost White Washi Tape, Penstand Notepad, Easy Tab Tape Dispenser, Lifelong Bottle Marker, Building 101, BBS Envelope, Mangaka Eraser, Etcetera Box, Anywhere Anytime Marker, Elementary Pencil Set, Modular Marker, Toggle Pen, Wooden Clipboard, OI Kendama.

Each object comes in a numbered graphic box, turning the display into a library.

Maintenance

Return your empty markers for a refill: the aluminium and glass markers (Anywhere Anytime Marker, Lifelong Bottle Marker) are designed to stay with you for a long time. Blunt scissors are reconditioned by the maker, sharpened and adjusted in the traditional blade capital of Seki, in Gifu Prefecture.
